This course is based on the most current veterinary industry guidelines for CPR and first aid for dogs and cats. These guidelines have shown to increase survival rates in animals experiencing cardiopulmonary arrest. This comprehensive and highly engaging online course includes presentations, videos, quizzes and a final examination covering the latest in CPR techniques and common medical emergencies that happen to pets. In addition to CPR, participants will learn how to safely handle, restrain and transport sick and/or injured pets, obtain vital signs and assess an emergency situation, manage common medical emergencies including shock, allergies, burns, wounds and bandaging, trauma, poisoning, and choking.
EquiAid Emergency First Aid for Horses Certification
Due to transportation needs, and medical situations involving hoses; owners, first responders and animal advocates need to be adequately trained in what to do. This course covers topics such as transporting and restraining sick and/or injured horses, how to prepare an emergency plan for your farm, performing triage, physical assessments including obtaining vital signs, how to handle common medical emergencies affecting horses and first aid skills such as wound management, emergencies that happen on the trail, horse shows and more.
