PetCPR+ Certification

PetCPR+ Certification program is designed to train the participant in canine and feline CPR and First Aid.  This class is ideal for animal professionals, obedience trainers, kennel staff, pet retailers, pet sitters, animal shelter staff/volunteers, rescue personnel, groomers, First Responders, Fire/EMT and pet owners.  Topics covered in this class will include safe handling, restraint and transportation of sick and/or injured pets, obtaining vital signs and assessing an emergency situation, managing common medical emergencies including shock, allergies, burns, wounds and bandaging, trauma, poisoning, choking and how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.   Class is approved to award 3 CEU to veterinary professionals and is recognized by the American Animal Hospital Association for accreditation purposes.

Upon completion of this class participants will be certified in Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid

PetCPR+ Advanced Certification*

PetCPR+ Advanced Certification program is designed for veterinary professionals.  Veterinary Technicians, Assistants, Veterinarians and support personnel will find that the material covered in our advanced CPR class is better suited for their needs.  Topics covered in this class will include how to triage an emergency, develop an emergency plan for your hospital,  how to function as a team during a code, recognize and manage a CPA (cardiac pulmonary arrest) in the hospital, how to use monitoring equipment necessary in a CPA and more.  The class includes a hands on experience with basic and ventilated CPR, choking and how to perform manual cardiopulmonary resuscitation using industry standard methods from the RECOVER Initiative. Veterinary professionals will receive 3 CEU for attending this class.  Our certification classes are becoming the choice for veterinary hospitals and clinics to validate their staff training for accreditations.

Upon completion of this class participants will be certified in Canine and Feline CPR and Advanced Life Support

*Our PetCPR+ Advanced class is taught exclusively by credentialed veterinary technicians and licensed veterinarians.  This class will only be available in areas where there are credentialed veterinary instructors.  Please contact our office for more information 


Large Animal Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Certification

Disaster preparedness is important for all animals, but it is especially important for livestock.  Due to the size of the animals and their shelter and transportation needs owners, first responders and animal advocates need to adequately trained in what to do. Disasters can happen anywhere and take many different forms—from hurricanes to barn fires, floods to hazardous materials spills—forcing possible evacuation. Whether you evacuate or shelter in place, it's important to be prepared to protect your livestock.   This class has both lecture and hands on workshop aspects including topics such as transporting and restraining sick and/or injured livestock, how to prepare an emergency plan for your farm, performing physical assessments including obtaining vital signs, how to handle common medical emergencies in livestock, first aid for horses including bandaging and applying splints and triage large animals in the field.
